The auction of sports items donated by footballer Reinildo Mandava was launched on Friday (28) in Maputo, with the aim of raising funds to support the rehabilitation of the Beira Central Hospital.

Entitled "Beira Central Hospital, Our Hospital", the initiative is promoted by the Mozambican international who plays for Atlético Madrid in Spain, and was made public at a press conference held in the auditorium of the BCI headquarters.

According to Heisler Castelo David, the BCI's director of public relations, this action reaffirms the BCI's position in supporting initiatives that promote development.

He stressed the human aspect that characterizes Reinildo Mandava's gesture, taking into account the contribution that the support will make to improving the largest hospital unit in the center of the country, and the gain for users of health services in that part of the country.

"One of the BCI's strategic pillars is to support initiatives that contribute positively to the realization of one of the most basic rights, the right to health and well-being," he said, adding that "the BCI will guarantee the opening, availability and dissemination of the bank account so that those interested can give their support safely and comfortably."

The event was attended by other representatives of partner institutions, namely Sérgio Marcos, Commercial Director of TVM; Heisler Castelo David, Director of Public Relations at BCI; Ivan Manhiça, Deputy Director for Planning and Cooperation), Zito Magaia, Consultant at LeiloSoc) and journalists.
