EDM announces unavailability of CREDELEC system next Monday

EDM anuncia indisponibilidade do sistema CREDELEC na próxima segunda-feira

The prepaid energy sales system, also known as "Credelec", of the public company Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) will be inoperable next Monday (29), starting at 9pm, the state-owned electricity company announced in a statement.

The system outage, which will last until 10am the following day, April 30, is intended, according to EDM, to allow the migration of all customer data from the old to the new Credelec service, as a result of the ongoing project to expand and modernize the technical infrastructure that supports the system.

"With this in mind and taking into account the long period of unavailability of the Credelec system, EDM recommends that all customers purchase energy in advance at the company's stores, through digital platforms and/or at accredited resellers," reads the document released today, Thursday (25) by the state-owned company.

According to EDM, this new solution "is part of the digitalization strategy launched in 2018, which will allow for greater fluidity and flexibility in the energy sales process, helping to meet customers' ever-growing needs in real time."
