On Wednesday (24), Mozambican Customs seized 100,000 dollars at Mavalane International Airport from the possession of a young couple living in Maputo city.

According to the newspaper SAVANAThe young men were questioned by Customs officers when they tried to travel to China with amounts above those allowed by law.

The young men were carrying a total of 100,000 dollars, divided between them. They revealed to the customs authorities that they were unaware of the limits set by law, which are 10 thousand dollars.

The couple, frequent travelers on the Mozambique-China route, revealed that the money was intended to buy hair in that Asian country for later sale in Mozambique.

However, the money was confiscated by the authorities and deposited at the Bank of Mozambique (BdM) for further legal proceedings.
