USAID Strengthens Youth Employability Skills in the Country

USAID reforça habilidades de empregabilidade dos jovens no país

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently launched a higher education career development program in Maputo and Manica Provinces.

This is a collaborative initiative between Michigan State University, Eduardo Mondlane University, Instituto Superior Politécnico de Manica, and Púngue University.

Through this USAID initiative, it aims to increase access to quality employability services by fostering Sustainable Career Development Centers in Mozambique.

According to the USAID press release, the centers will rely on the expertise of Michigan State University leaders to establish training and activities that ensure that students, including women and people with disabilities, graduate with the technical, business, and social skills to enter and thrive in the job market.

"In addition to improving students' individual skills, the program will also build sustainable links between universities and the Mozambican business sector so that universities can continuously adapt their coursework and training to meet the demands of the labor market," reads the document.
