Mozambique and Saudi Arabia have announced their intention to set up a joint business council to identify investment opportunities in both countries, delegations from both countries announced on Sunday at the end of the Mozambican President's visit to the country.

The two sides agreed on the need to establish a joint Saudi Arabia-Mozambique business council and to form a delegation of Saudi businessmen to visit Mozambique and explore investment opportunities," announced the Saudi Information Agency, quoted by Lusa, after a meeting between Mozambican officials and the federation of Saudi chambers of commerce.

The president of the institution, Hassan bin Mujib Al-Huwaizi, defended the interest in strengthening cooperation relations with Mozambique and pointed to agriculture, energy, tourism, infrastructure, water and mining as sectors with enormous potential.

With this in mind, a business delegation from Saudi Arabia is due to visit the Portuguese-speaking country on a date to be announced.

Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi said in Riyadh that the two countries would set up a working group to continue discussions on various issues.

In this regard, Filipe Nyusi announced that a mission from the Investment Promotion Agency would be traveling to that Middle Eastern country to materialize the interests expressed by Saudi businesspeople.
