Four unknown individuals kidnapped the son of a businessman in the automobile sector, owner of the "Abnasir Motors" car sales business, on Wednesday evening (24) in Maputo city.

The kidnapping took place in a condominium area in the Polana Caniço "B" neighborhood, near the Private Hospital, when the victim was finishing a visit to an infrastructure under construction.

An infrastructure security guard, in an interview with Success TVHe said that the victim arrived at the site at around 5pm to assess the day's construction work.

After checking and leaving orders for the next day's work, the victim came down from the building and was taken by the criminals.

"As soon as he got downstairs we heard some screams. We went down to see and found him being put in the car. A gun was pointed at his head, but I don't know if it was fired at that point. We tried to help him, even people coming from the other side, but we couldn't because they, the bandits, were shooting. They were armed. We saw a large AKM-type weapon and a pistol. After all that, they took him and left," described the witness.

The shots must have hit someone, as there were traces of blood at the scene.

She said that only one vehicle was seen during the raid. "I don't know if there were others," she said, noting that four individuals carried out the action.

It was customary for the businessman's son to visit the infrastructure several times a day.

"After everything, the [victim's] driver and I tried to follow the [kidnappers' car], but near the traffic circle I got off and went back and he continued with some police officers, but they couldn't locate the kidnappers' car. I couldn't see the license plate," he said.

The crime scene was swarming with police afterwards.
