Pilots approved on Thursday a strike at Easter, between April 7 and 10, to pressure the government to ratify the agreement signed with the Portuguese airline - TAP, which restores labor conditions withdrawn in 2021, announced the pilots' union (SPAC).
The strike was approved tonight at a pilots' assembly, since "the government is not committing to this agreement with the new management" of TAP, a source from the Civil Aviation Pilots Union (SPAC) told Lusa, referring to the departure of the current CEO of TAP at the end of this month and the entry of the new CEO, Luís Rodrigues, after mid-April.
"Until the Government ratifies the proposal, we will continue to strike," said a source from SPAc's board of directors, insisting that the proposal agreed between TAP, whose presidency will change, and SPAC "still needs to be approved by the government.
The agreement between TAP and the union ensures a "reinstatement of working conditions removed in the 2022 agreement," he said.
