The Kimberley Process Participation and Presidency Committee decides today the decision on the admission of Mozambique to the Kimberley Process. This is an action that aims to initiate the export of diamonds.

The international body responsible for this process, recommended this Thursday, in Russia, to the plenary, the admission of Mozambique to this body that certifies the origin of diamonds to prevent illegal exports and financing of conflicts through the product.

For his part, the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, says he is expectant about the decision that will be announced today in Russia, stressing that, "in 2016 we did not qualify, but it is important, during my mandate has to qualify.
