Mozambique exports close to 150,000 tons of cashew nuts

Mozambique annually places on the international market close to 150,000 tons of cashew nuts. The figure is below the expected taking into account the potential of the country.

According to the general director of the Mozambique Almond Institute, Ilídio Bande, the national cashew nut is of high quality and with a guaranteed market.  

Speaking in Beira during a meeting to hear the proposal for the revision of the cashew law, Ilídio Bande pointed out that the central region has the greatest potential for the production of this cash crop.

Participating in the meeting to hear the proposal for the review of the cashew law were directors of the District Services of Economic Activities, Customs officials, and others.
