Zambézia: Administrators owe around 1 million meticais in dormitory complexes

Zambézia: Administradores devem cerca de 1 milhão de meticais em complexos de dormidas

Some district governments, through their respective administrators, have debts with some pensions or residences in Quelimane.

The administrators of the districts of Ile, Mulevala, Namarroi and Pebane, for example, owe around 1 million meticais to the owner of the "Mazi Kanona" complex, commonly known as Santos Razão, because they rented it and/or sent their technicians to stay there.

According to the newspaper Diário da ZambéziaLast week, during the meeting of Quelimane's tour operators, led by the Secretary of State in Zambézia, the issue came up, where the owner, Santos Razão, complained about the delay in paying his debt, since it has been about five years.

In front of the Secretary of State for Zambezia province, Cristina Mafumo, Razão said that he had contacted the respective administrators, but only some had taken over, the others had not, allegedly because the debts did not occur during his mandate.

According to the operator, the delay in paying off the debt is already keeping him awake. "Lugela has already paid off the debt, but the rest is still outstanding. It's money that could help me," said Santos Razão, quoted in the same publication.

In the meantime, Cristina Mafumo noted the concern, but gave no guarantees on the matter. It should be noted that some debtors have already left office.
