TAP. Pilots have agreement to call off Easter strike, Medina's "ok" is missing. "You can't trust" the government, criticizes union

TAP. Pilotos têm acordo para cancelar greve da Páscoa, falta “ok” de Medina. “Não se pode confiar” no Governo, critica sindicato

TAP pilots have reached an agreement with the company's management to cancel the strike planned for EasterHowever, although João Galamba's Ministry of Infrastructure has approved the agreement reached, the ok of Fernando Medina and the Ministry of Finance. The union president harshly criticizes the government, which "cannot be trusted".

When interviewed by Rádio Observador, Tiago Faria Lopes, president of the Civil Aviation Pilots Union (SPAC), confirmed that the strike could be called off, saying that "the possibility of calling off the strike has always been on the table".

"In fact, the agreement was already reached with the executive committee last week - the problem was always with the government, which never gave its backing to this agreement," says Tiago Faria Lopes.

"The intention was always to reach the agreement we did," says the SPAC president, harshly criticizing the government: "the government should have given its approval before we got here, but it never had a strike on the table."

"We wouldn't call a strike at a change of administration, that would be unconscionable now, as we can't trust the government, we're worried," he says.

"We are very close to ending the rule of law," says the president of SPAC, saying that the government "caused damage to TAP's accounts by not approving a protocol that had been approved by TAP's executive committee". The strike is scheduled for Easter and, given the threat of a strike, several trips are being canceled.

The agreement provides, among other things, for an end to the intention of collective dismissal and the creation of a daily allowance scale. The Ministry of Infrastructure welcomes the agreement and Finance promises to look into the matter soon, seeking guarantees that the company's future sustainability will not be put at risk.
