Government promises to electrify all administrative post headquarters by 2024

Governo promete electrificar todas sedes dos postos administrativos até 2024

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, promised to conclude the electrification of the headquarters of administrative posts throughout the country by the end of his mandate.

Filipe Nyusi, who was speaking at the inauguration of the Lissiete power grid in Niassa, recalled that this is the 31 administrative post, of the 39 existing in the province to be electrified, which translates into a coverage rate of 74% of new connections planned, or 371 of the 500.

This will include combining options within the national power grid with stand-alone systems powered by other sources such as small hydropower plants.

"In this way we will materialize in a progressive way and with the necessary speed the illumination of every corner of this vast Mozambique, so we guide the local government to bet on the massification of the productive use of energy promoting investments oriented to the productive sector having as a final objective the creation of jobs for young people and the generation of income for families and the subsequent improvement of the population's well-being," said Filipe Nyusi.

Meanwhile, Filipe Nyusi urged the population of Niassa, to participate in the fight against power theft and vandalization of electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure.

In a particular way, Nyusi, exhorted the community leaders to assume their vanguard role in the battle to control the evil-doers, whose action harms the entire population.
