"Foreign tourists will no longer have to travel long distances to benefit from the province's tourism potential," she said.

And so, the province of Gaza now has an infrastructure sized to receive about 220 thousand passengers per year, in addition to handling diverse cargo. The work is estimated to cost US$ 74 million, donated by the Chinese government.

Built from scratch to serve and boost the province's development, with funding from China, the Chongoene airport was inaugurated by the president of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi.
