A seven-story residential building still under construction collapsed Tuesday in Nairobi, Kenya's capital, leaving about ten people trapped.
"It was at 2 p.m. when we noticed that the pillars of the building had started to collapse. We then started shouting to alert the people who were inside the building to escape. Some of them managed to escape while others did not," said, John Muli, witness.
Despite hail and rain, our volunteers and other agencies continue to save lives.

A supervisor in charge of the site has twice ignored warnings from authorities to halt construction work following concerns about its stability.
Another witness, Isaiah Maina, added that "the structure is just poor. Looking at the columns, looking at the materials, they are not as they should be."
As of Wednesday morning, a rescue team was still on site to continue removing the slabs in an attempt to rescue other workers from under the rubble.
Building collapses are common in Nairobi. In 2015 alone eight buildings collapsed killing 15 people. The presidency ordered an audit of all buildings in the country to see if they were code compliant. The National Building Authority found that 58% of the buildings in Nairobi were unfit for habitation.
