Avaria no sistema de pagamentos electrónicos gera caos no comércio

Several citizens who wanted to withdraw money, transfer money or make payments using cards or other electronic means were prevented from doing so on Saturday (06) due to a major malfunction in the Euronet system that manages electronic currency transactions.

It's not the first time this has happened, in fact, the system has been showing problems for quite some time, but it had only been affecting transactions with national cards abroad. Many Mozambicans abroad found themselves "hung up" with declined cards. In March, the problem began to affect domestic transactions as well, with constant blackouts. But yesterday, Saturday, it reached peak chaos.

According to a CanalmozThe situation is creating payment problems, with supermarkets being the main victims. "At gas stations, many people were stranded after filling up and were unable to pay. And this malfunction is also affecting transactions to mobile wallets," reads the same publication.
