Tesla orders recall of about 3,000 Model Y and Model 3 vehicles in the US

According to Business Insider, the electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has ordered the recall of almost 3,000 of its vehicles due to a potential suspension problem that could make the cars more susceptible to crashes.

This information was advanced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) this Monday.

For the NHTSA, the issue is related to the front suspension fasteners, which can interfere with wheel alignment and make the vehicle unstable.

In the NHTSA's safety report on vehicle curfews, it states that 2,791 Teslas may have an abnormal noise being detectable by the customer and coming from the front suspension.

The vehicles concerned are Model Ys built in 2020 and 2021 and some Model 3 vehicles built between 2019 and 2021, according to the NHTSA.

This recall does not necessarily mean that all vehicles may have this problem, it means that Tesla wants to inspect the vehicles and ensure their quality/safety by making any repairs that are needed.

The NHTSA, which is responsible for enforcing vehicle performance standards in the US, is currently investigating 12 accidents involving Tesla Autopilot.
