Industrial sector recovers in the last two quarters of 2021 - INE

Sector industrial recupera nos dois últimos trimestres de 2021 – INE

The National Statistics Institute (INE) has announced that confidence in the industrial and energy and water distribution sector has rebounded markedly in the last two quarters of last year, with a margin of two points higher in the last three months.

INE's data indicate that in the third quarter the sector's balance stood at 75.6 points and in the fourth quarter at 77.6 points.

In the quarterly bulletin "Confidence and Economic Climate Indicators" INE found that unlike the sector's summary indicator , there was a slight slowdown in turnover "which translated into a slight rise in stocks in industrial warehouses, in a climate in which the outlook for prices was one of substantial decline.

INE found that, in the fourth quarter, almost half of the companies (48%) faced constraints of various kinds, and the number of companies with some kind of constraint increased by 8%, compared to the last quarter.

Among the factors that affected the industrial sector are "the lack of raw material (25%), the lack of access to credit (20%), and the other unspecified factors (23%), as the main obstacles that hindered the optimal performance of the sector," concludes the document quoted by the portal cartamz.
