Voter Registration: Less than five days to go, CNE allocates 28 mobiles in Niassa

Recenseamento Eleitoral: a menos de cinco dias do fim, CNE aloca 28 mobiles no Niassa

The National Electoral Commission (CNE) has allocated another 28 reinforcement mobiles to the most critical locations in the six municipalities of Niassa province, with only four days left until the end of voter registration.

By Sunday (28), the province's six municipalities had registered 55,71% of the 268,953 potential voters, according to Televisão de Moçambique.

The head of the CNE in the province, Barnabé Ncomo, said that the commission was concerned about the low number of voters in Mandimba. "But we believe that in the coming days, with the reinforcement mobiles id's, eventually these numbers will rise."

The city of Lichinga met the census target by 40.51%, and the districts of Marrupa and Lago exceeded the targets by 40% and 34%, respectively.

He justifies this success in some districts by the attraction of the voter registration card, which resembles an identity card.

"And as you know, in some cases, in some districts, there are people who don't have a document and this would be the first one for them," he said.
