By August of this year, the first shipment of heavy sands from Chibuto could be made by sea, as a result of the completion of construction work on the dock for the export of this ore in the Chongoene district of Gaza.

According to the project manager, You Jian Ping, "the construction of the Chongoene dock is divided into three phases, the first of which will be completed by next August, when the export of Chibuto's heavy sands from that maritime infrastructure to various countries around the world can begin".

However, for Frelimo's first secretary in Gaza, who visited the site, the infrastructure will be an asset for the development of the province.

"The Chongoene dock will boost the development of the region and the country, through the creation of jobs and parallel ventures," said Daniel Matavel, quoted by the newspaper. Radio Mozambique.
