Portugal: Imigrantes chegam a quase 800 mil e já renderam mais de 1.600 milhões de euros em lucros para o país

More and more foreigners are living in Portugal. In ten years, the total number of immigrants has doubled, reaching almost 800,000 people by 2022.

Data released this Monday by the statistics portal Pordata reveals that last year alone 120,000 foreigners decided to move to Portuguese territory.

The majority of foreigners come from outside Europe, with Brazil topping the nationality table.

This Monday, the Migration Observatory also released a report according to which immigrants have contributed to a profit of more than 1.6 billion euros in Portugal. According to the Observatory, without immigrants several economic sectors would collapse.

One reflection of this increase in the number of foreigners is the number of pupils of other nationalities in Portuguese schools. (RTP)
