Natasha Matos – Em Nome do Amor (Exposição de Artes Visuais)

16Neto Cultural Space presents an exhibition of Visual Arts by Natasha Matos, In the Name of Love. Exhibition opening date is the 15th at 6:30 pm, with free admission.

Natasha Matos, born in Maputo, Mozambique, is a Visual Artist, using drawing with materials such as graphite pencil and charcoal powder as a way to express herself artistically.
.
Her interest in the art world started in childhood, and her desire is to be able to transform the story of her existence and her perception of society into symbolism that she can communicate and connect with other people through her drawings. For her drawings, Natasha uses a lot of the feeling of melancholy, sadness and anguish, as a way to create a sense of mystery.

IN THE NAME OF LOVE

A collection with 8 pieces, Em Nome do Amor explores, through drawing, tragic situations experienced by women who connect in the name of love with men. As a basis for the construction and inspiration of the project, the artist did research through interviews with women, studies of works by authors Paulina Chiziane and Clarice Lispector, the book 'The Second Sex' by philosopher Simone de Beauvoir, and articles by psychoanalyst Maria Homem.
.
With this project, Natasha intends to bring more awareness to how intimate relationships are one of the places that still allow a recreation of a society that devalues women, giving them no safe space to build themselves as human beings, independently.
