Mozambique closes September with 198MM Meticais in State Revenues

The spokesman for the Council of Ministers, Filmão Msuaze, said on Tuesday in Maputo that the state collected 198 billion Meticais in revenues in the nine months of this year, which represents 18% more compared to the same period last year.

An analysis of the budget execution report shows that the result achieved corresponds to "74.6% of the annual target". In the period under reference last year, the state revenue was set at 168 billion meticais, according to the spokesman.

And as for the country's expenses, the data illustrate that by the end of the last quarter these were higher than "174,918.3 million meticais, corresponding to a realization of 71.9% of the 2021 State Budget, against 161,963.1 million meticais", i.e. 8% more.

This information was revealed to the media, after another session of the Council of Ministers, where the Economic and Social Plan and the Execution Report of the State Budget were analyzed.

Despite the adversities that the country faced in this period, the government makes a positive balance of macroeconomic stability, highlighting an increase in net international reserves and the stability of inflation, below the 5% projected for 2021.

"There was domestic macroeconomic stability, characterized by an increase in net international reserves to six months of [import] coverage and stability in inflation at 4.86%, below the 5% forecast for the year 2021," said Filimão Suaze.

According to the official, of the 428 indicators in the 2021 Economic and Social Plan, in 49% (208) the target was fully achieved and in 24% (102) the targets were partially achieved.
