The National Football Team, "Mambas", drew 1-1 yesterday against their Botswana counterparts in their third and final preparation match for the African Nations Championship (CAN), which will take place from January 13 to February 11 in Côte d'Ivoire.

In the match played at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, Chiquinho Conde put his faith in the "Mambas" second team, based on Moçambola players. The national side went in at half-time trailing 1-0, with the Tswanas' goal coming from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute, for a foul on goalkeeper Ivan.

In the second half, according to Desafio newspaper, the "Mambas" coach made several substitutions that culminated in the equalizer, scored by Alfonso Amade in the 90'+3. With this result, the national team finish the pre-competition stage undefeated.

Meanwhile, the Mozambican delegation is leaving today for Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where it will take part in the biggest soccer competition on the African continent. In Group B, the "Mambas" make their debut next Sunday against Egypt.
