Lionel Messi took to social media this Friday to post a message about his punishment by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) following the Argentine's unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia.

The Argentinian star, who plays in the French league, posted a video on social media after being punished by PSG following his trip to Saudi Arabia.

"I wanted to make this video after everything that's happened. I want to apologize to my teammates and to the club. I honestly thought I'd have the day off after the game [with Lorient], as I had in previous weeks. I had this trip organized to Arabia, which I had already cancelled, and I couldn't go. I want to apologize for what I did and here I am waiting for the club to decide. That's all. Cheers," said Messi.

It's worth remembering that PSG had security measures reinforced at Lionel Messi and Neymar's homes on Thursday, after both players were among the main targets of a demonstration at the entrance to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
