Young Mozambicans receive incentives for entrepreneurship

Jovens moçambicanos recebem incentivos para o empreendedorismo

At least 48 young people received work "kits" last week, in Inhambane, under the program "My Kit, My Job", promoted by the State Secretariat for Youth and Employment (SEJE).

The "kits" are composed of material from building block manufacturing, tire molding and repair, fruit processing, milling, salon and beauty, and others.

The Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, Oswaldo Petersburgo, delivered this equipment in Massinga, during his working visit to Inhambane province last week. Petersburgo said that this aims to boost self-employment, reduce unemployment and improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries, having appealed to them to bet on associativism as a way to achieve the desired objectives.

"Create associations to implement your initiatives because, besides employing local labor, they should contribute positively to the success of the projects. The associations will improve living conditions and contribute to the resolution of community problems, as is the case of citrus deterioration," said the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment quoted by the newspaper Notícias.

He added that the "My Kit, My Job" program not only makes work material available to young people, but also promotes training through professional training centers and mobile units spread around the country.

For the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, the program privileges young people who are already in some activity and who need support to increase their production capacity. He explained that the project was conceived as a solution for recent graduates in various professional training institutions, so that they have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they have acquired.

The winners assumed that the kits are a boost to their activities and they will do everything to expand their businesses, as well as to employ some young people who lack opportunities. Maulito Jorge, who received a citrus and sugar cane processing kit, said that the growth of his business will contribute to reduce the deterioration of fruit in the district.

Assante Vilanculos, who received a grinder, said that the employment kits encourage youth entrepreneurship and will help in improving the living conditions of the youth and their communities.
