Government and partners invest more than 50 million meticais in access to land and food security

Governo e parceiros investem mais de 50 milhões de meticais no acesso a terra e segurança alimentar

The government and partners are investing over 50 million meticais to improve access to land and food security in the country. The money is being used to implement a project called Transformative Land Investment, an initiative of the Dutch organization SNV Mozambique.

According to the agriculture sector representative of that organization, Hilário Sitóe, the project aims to ensure food sustainability by improving access to land.

"When we talk about transformative investment in land we refer to food sustainability systems and [question] how land, as an asset, can be used to place products in more competitive markets and how to produce without affecting biodiversity," he explained, quoted by Radio Mozambique.

The Transformative Land Investment project launched today in Maputo will be implemented over three years.
