Lack of ethics in business management retracts investments

Falta de ética na gestão de negócios retrai investimentos

The lack of ethics in business management is holding back investment in the business sector, considers the member of the Superior Council of Administrative Magistracy, António Grispos, quoted by the newspaper o País.

In his view, the sector must have integrity to promote the growth of the economy.

According to António Grispos, the country needs robust companies, so ethics in firms is a key factor for attracting investment and growth of the national business sector.

"We must look for mechanisms to bring solutions to our businesses in an ethical way, without the current situation leading us to forget these values. Investors will realize that, even in situations of distress, it is worth investing in our country," explains the source.

For his part, the president of the board of directors of BVM, Salim Valá, says this is an important qualitative requirement for the corporate structure of companies, which allows for transparency in management and accountability of those who are managing in relation to shareholders.

"That's the human issue, to comply with what exists and is in each one of these companies as procedures," also referred Páscoa Buque, representative of the Central Public Ethics Commission.

The statements were made during a meeting with the theme "Ethics in Business Investment".
