The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, says that the country has collected, in the last two years, more than 90 million dollars, the corresponding (5.8 million meticais) resulting from the export of agricultural products.
As reported by RM, these are food and cash crops, such as cotton fiber, cashew nuts, macadamia nuts, and pigeon peas, as well as the main fruits with the quality required in the agricultural marketing chain.
Nyusi said that with this volume of exports achieved in the period in reference, the country is in a position to create aggregation and processing centers, with a close look at the northern provinces.
The head of state also said that the support provided to small and medium-sized businesses in the agricultural sector, affected by Tropical Storm Freddy, should bring results in the agricultural marketing chain.
