Study points out that vision can also be affected by Covid-19

Estudo aponta que visão também pode ser afectada pela Covid-19

Research from Griffith University in Australia reveals that depth perception is impaired.

Covid-19 infection can also have consequences for vision. A study by the Menzies Health Institute at Griffith University in Australia, together with a research center in South Korea, has shown how the optic nerves can be damaged.

The research, published in the journal Nature Communication and cited by Lusa, concluded that the eyes are also affected by the virus through the brain. Vision can be altered by inflammation of the optic nerves, the abnormal accumulation of fluids and inflammation of cells that cause the retina to thicken.
