Eni joins TotalEnergies to develop world's largest gas field

Eni junta-se à TotalEnergies para desenvolver maior campo de gás do mundo

Qatar announced yesterday that it had chosen Italian energy giant Eni as the second foreign partner, after France's TotalEnergies, for the development of the world's largest natural gas field, writes Notícias ao Minuto.

"Eni," Qatar's Energy Minister and Qatar Energy (QE) CEO Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi said at a press conference in Doha.

French oil and gas group TotalEnergies was chosen a week ago to take a 6.25% stake in the project, which aims to help the Gulf country increase its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production by 60% by 2027.

It should be noted that Qatar is one of the world's leading producers of liquefied natural gas (LNG), along with the United States and Australia.
