ENI speeds up drilling in the Rovuma Basin

Italian oil company Eni will acquire materials to support Eni Rovuma Basin B.V.'s gas production development in Area 4 of the Rovuma Basin, in Cabo Delgado province.

The idea is to speed up activities for the drilling, completion and cleaning of four hydrocarbon wells in that area.

Drilling is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025, with completion and testing operations possibly taking place in the following quarter, says the News.

In addition, drilling, completion and cleaning work will be carried out on two more wells in the same area of the Rovuma Sedimentary Basin.

ENI will open an administrative branch in the Mozambican capital, Maputo, and a logistics base in the city of Pemba, in Cabo Delgado.

The company is contracting integrated freight forwarding, maritime and customs clearance services for the delivery of materials and equipment in accordance with international and Mozambican legislation.
