Businessmen want tax measures to improve competitiveness

The Mozambican business sector defends the adoption of fiscal measures to make the country more competitive and a preferential destination for foreign investment.

According to the vice-president for Industry and Agro-Food at the Confederation of Associations of Mozambique (CTA), Fernando Oliveira, fiscal competitiveness is today a determining factor in the choice of destination of investments worldwide, it is also a reality that the capital moves to where it produces best according to the best conditions that each economy offers.

For Fernando Oliveira, who was speaking to the deputies of the Assembly of the Republic (AR), about the business environment, Mozambique needs to have more industries and foreign investment, but it is necessary to capitalize on the specific and comparative conditions that the country has.

"Before we even talk about attracting investments, it is fundamental to make them better ambassadors of Mozambique's economy abroad, because it is precisely the foreign investors who have contributed to the creation of wealth and jobs," said Oliveira.
