Know the five strategies to better manage your time at work

Conheça as cinco estratégias para gerir melhor o seu tempo no trabalho

Good time management is the best way to achieve more productivity at work and a more balanced life. Sometimes being able to manage all the tasks that need to be done on a daily basis is a huge challenge, so knowing how to manage time is key.

The goal is not to do the most things in the least hours, but to know how to optimize the hours, without wasting time, gaining more time for personal activities.

The global technology company Hotmart, cited by the portal Human Resources, discloses five strategies for good time management and a more balanced work and personal life.

1. Self-knowledge

Self-knowledge is the first step, because this is the only way to build a positive routine adapted to each person's rhythm. It is, therefore, important to identify the most productive periods and to know how much time is spent on each activity. Mapping all this is important to know exactly how much time is needed to complete each task and to organize them without being overloaded.

2. Define Priorities

When organizing the work week's agenda, it is essential to divide the tasks by priority, i.e. from the most urgent to the least urgent. Starting with an unimportant task can cause crucial time to be lost in order to accomplish what is urgent and needs more attention.

3. Divide the tasks

Doing the same thing for hours at a time can be tiring and unproductive. If there are tasks that require more hours, it is best to divide them into smaller tasks throughout the week to ease the process and work more smoothly, without getting so tired of the activity.

4. Write down all appointments and tasks

It is best to write down everything that needs to be done, so that nothing is forgotten or deadlines are confused. This strategy also helps you better visualize everything that needs to be done and thus better manage schedules. For the notes you can use several methods: physical agenda, online agenda, planner or online applications.

5. Take breaks

Time management also means stipulating specific times for rest. Without strategic breaks throughout the day, it is impossible to maintain productivity and have a healthy routine. Breaks help you rest mentally and physically and regain your energy. However, if they are not included in the planning, there is a good chance that these moments will not be given due attention.
