Portuguese airline reacts to LAM's accusations

Companhia aérea portuguesa reage às acusações da LAM

Euro Atlantic has reacted to the accusations from Mozambique Airlines with a vote of confidence in the continuity of the partnership that allowed flights on the Maputo-Lisbon route to be re-established.

On Saturday (13), LAM blamed Euro Atlantic Airways for the delay and rescheduling of its flight from Lisbon to Maputo on Sunday (14). LAM accused Euro Atlantic of not having paid the rent for the aircraft. The owner of the aircraft allegedly ordered it not to take off.

A note from the foreign company, quoted by NewsThe document states that the company's intention is to "grow the project together". The document stresses that the aircraft are all at LAM's disposal, including operational support.

"So far the contract is being fully complied with. In fact, the owner of the operation is the Mozambican airline," said LAM's Project and Restructuring Manager, Sérgio Matos. He was speaking in December 2023, on the occasion of the inaugural flight on the Maputo-Lisbon-Maputo route.
