Chefe do Estado fala hoje sobre situação da nação

The Head of State, Filipe Nyusi, addresses the Mozambicans today, from the plenary of the Assembly of the Republic, to give his annual information on the general state of the nation.

In a speech expected to last about two hours, Filipe Nyusi will radiograph the political, economic, military and social situation in the country, as this year was marked by the entry of military forces from Rwanda and later the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in the fight against armed groups that since late 2017 protagonist terror in the province of Cabo Delgado.

Besides the issue of terrorism, the Head of State will also present the state of play of the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) process of former guerrillas of the Mozambican National Resistance (Renamo), the main opposition party.

Nevertheless, the country's fight against the covid-19 pandemic, at a time when fears are growing of a new wave precipitated by the already confirmed circulation of the new Omicron variant in the country, will also deserve some appreciation from the Head of State.
