Cabo Delgado: Attorney General's Office identifies 16 citizens involved in terrorism

Cabo Delgado: Procuradoria-Geral da República identifica 16 cidadãos envolvidos com o terrorismo

A total of 16 individuals of Mozambican and Tanzanian nationality are accused by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) of being involved in committing crimes of terrorism and its financing.

The list published this afternoon by the PRG in the Bulletin of the Republic (BR) is headed by Ajame Momade Ali, a food trader at the Olumbi Administrative Post on Vamizi Island.

According to the newspaper SundayThe list also includes Abdala Muarabo, Sumail Salimo, Ally Yussuf Liwangwa, who is Tanzanian, Mamudo Ismael Sefo Sante, Hamza Ussuail, Gabriel Raimundo Mnala, Selemane Ibraimo Selemane, Ali Sumail Assane Dade, Joaquim Xavier, Muidine Momade Rachide and Anzane Quiwamba Saide.

The list also includes the names of Amir Yassine Chabire, Safira Firbate Maulana, the only Tanzanian woman in the group, Isac Ali Abdala Nampambula and Selemane Mussa.

According to the PGR, each of these 16 individuals carried out various roles within the terrorist group, including supplying food, patrolling, reconnaissance, training and recruiting young people, among others.

All of them have been charged and their cases referred to the Cabo Delgado Provincial Court.
