Absa e a magia de ensinar gestão financeira através da artes

The arts are a supreme resource for raising awareness, in many ways, and here in Mozambique there is a bank that is increasingly excelling in this combination. It's Absa Bank, which for years has been using the arts and culture to teach financial literacy.

This Mozambican Women's Month, the institution has taken on the challenge of extolling their value in the arts, as well as their mastery of teaching. Last Wednesday (03), Mozambican women taught techniques for good personal financial management on the stage of the Cine Teatro Gilberto Mendes in Maputo. In the city of Beira, Sofala province, the event was replicated by the Chamuarianga theater group.

Speaking to MZNewsEma Cumba, Director of Social Responsibility and Citizenship, said that through this type of initiative, the bank contributes to the education of generations and the emancipation of women.

"The bank has created this interactive and inclusive way of teaching the men and women present here. And with the theme that was addressed, we believe that we are educating generations, transforming the way people are and the way they live, improving the way they can live by managing their finances properly," he said.

On the occasion, Ema Cumba said that the financial education campaign, "diversified into various programs", has been running since March of this year and should continue until the end of the year.

Absa Bank's Director of Social Responsibility and Citizenship explained that this initiative is part of the Sustainable Development Goals, in terms of inclusion, equality and human development.

He revealed that among the different formats for disseminating financial literacy adopted by the bank are radio programs and partnerships with digital influencers. The idea is to bring knowledge about finance to different social strata, including young people and children.
