Fly Modern Ark (FMA), the consultancy hired by the government to recover Mozambique Airlines (LAM), ended the management agreement for the national flag carrier yesterday (Thursday 19).

Signed in April last year, the agreement between the FMA and LAM ran for almost 18 months, with the South African consultant managing to get LAM out of insolvency in the first four months of operations.
It should be remembered that when the FMA took over the company's restructuring project, it had an estimated debt of around 300 million dollars, according to data provided at the time.
The end of the contract with FMA comes two months after the arrival of LAM's new president, Américo Muchanga, from Mozambique Airports, where he was replaced by Amélia Muendane, from the Mozambique Tax Authority.
Recently, Muchanga revealed that LAM intends to acquire four aircraft to strengthen its current fleet of five. On the other hand, he assumed that, in the first half of this year, the The company carried fewer passengers than expected at the end of the year.
