Zambézia already has a Molecular Biology Laboratory

Zambézia já conta com um Laboratório de Biologia Molecular

Zambézia province counts, as of this Wednesday, with a Molecular Biology laboratory, the largest built in Mozambique after the independence.

It is an infrastructure with the capacity to carry out monthly more than 22,000 viral load tests for HIV/AIDS carriers and covid-19 tests.

Inaugurated by the Secretary of State in Zambezia, Judith Mussácula, the infrastructure is valued at over 35 million meticals, disbursed by the United States. Built between the years 2018 to 2019, the facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies that will allow for various tests that were previously not possible in Zambezia.

For Judith Mussácula, "the provincial laboratory represents an added value for the province, as it facilitates assistance to patients living with HIV/ AIDS and timely response in the demand for services and to those infected by covid-19".
