Tmcel busca reforço da Ericsson para provisão de novas soluções tecnológicas

Mozambique Telecom (Tmcel) and Ericsson recently signed a partnership agreement under which the flagship operator will use Ericsson Charging and Ericsson Mediation software to modernize its Business and Operations Support Systems (BSS/OSS), as well as Ericsson Dynamic Activation to strengthen network performance, improve operational agility and the customer experience..

According to the newspaper media FaxThe contract allows Tmcel to launch new offers and customize them for the operator's subscribers, as well as boost and accelerate the digital transformation process.

By upgrading to the latest versions of these technological solutions, Tmcel will be able to monetize its current services and launch new ones, while offering excellent reliability and performance that is unique in the market.

According to the same publication, the agreement also includes Ericsson Dynamic Activation, which will act as an activation and lifecycle management platform for user services, helping to strengthen the performance of Tmcel's network.

For the chairman of Tmcel's Management Committee, Mahomed Mussá, this agreement underlines the company's commitment to continuing to provide reliable and innovative services to customers.

This partnership allows Ericsson to provide Tmcel with the latest technological solutions, thus contributing to the modernization of its infrastructure and improving the provision of services.

The partnership between the two companies also includes a focus on developing digital transformation skills which, through comprehensive knowledge transfer programs and targeted training, will enable Tmcel to manage the platforms autonomously, guaranteeing operational excellence and long-term sustainability.

Importantly, Ericsson's OSS/BSS solutions help telecommunications companies accelerate growth, optimize processes and remain competitive as new services and business models emerge with 5G technology. These solutions ensure seamless service experiences, efficient monetization and data-driven operations.

Moçambique Telecom (Tmcel) was formed in December 2018 as a result of the merger of the now defunct Telecomunicações de Moçambique (TDM) and Moçambique Celular (Mcel).
