The activities of the mining company Tazetta Resources, in the districts of Pebane and Mocubela, Zambezia province, have been paralyzed for several months, due to disagreements between the shareholders.
In the meantime, the company's 1,000 workers have not stopped earning their salaries, and have been out of work for eight months.
Tazetta Resources explores heavy areas in those districts, and is one of the largest tax payers in Zambezia.
The situation of internal disagreements and the suspension of activities has led to the company no longer paying taxes on mining activities as planned. In the first half of this year it paid 14 million meticais, compared to 73 million paid last year.
AT is already suffering from the lack of pipes and is looking for solutions to get around the situation. (Source: RM)
