The mayor of Maputo, Razaque Manhique, today promised to expel municipal police officers who are involved in acts of corruption on public roads.

He issued the warning during a municipal police parade that took place a few days after a video circulated on social networks and in the media in which a municipal police officer received something, presumably money, from the hand of a semi-truck driver.

According to Manhique, quoted by "The Country"This is an act that deviates from the municipal posture and shows disrespect for the job and uniform.

The mayor says there is no reason for municipal police officers to be "hunting" victims for irregular parking "and blackmailing residents with irregular works".
