Oil price has already gone up 60% and can still go up to $90

Preço do petróleo já subiu 60% e ainda pode chegar até 90 dólares

The price of a barrel of oil is moving unstoppably towards its peak. By the end of the quarter it could reach $90, as on both the London and New York markets, the "black gold" is on its way to new records against 2014 and 2018, respectively.

In the US alone, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) passed the $80 mark in early October, something that had not happened since 2014.

This Wednesday, the barrel corrected 0.50% to $79.34, while the price of Brent oil, the benchmark for Europe, has increased 57% since January.

In addition, Brent crude, another type of oil traded in London, is up 57% in 2021, having opened down this Tuesday on London's Intercontinental Exchange Futures (ICE), trading at $82.06, down from $82.43 on Tuesday and $85.65 on October 26, a high since October 2018 (when it rose as high as $86.43).
