Oil oscillates on volatile day. Brent rises to $113 a barrel

Petróleo oscila em dia volátil. Brent sobe para 113 dólares o barril

The price of "black gold" on the international markets starts the first day of the week marked by volatility, with prices oscillating between ups and downs. Currently, the barrel of oil is appreciating, around 113 dollars.

This morning, a barrel of Brent crude, quoted in London and used as a reference for national imports, is up 0.6% to $113. Already the WTI, quoted in New York, rises 0.39% to $ 110.

Although they are rising now, oil prices started the day down due to global economic concerns over supply tightening. "Clearly macro factors are driving oil at the moment, rather than fundamentals," pointed out Warren Patterson, head of commodities research at ING, quoted by Reuters and Eco Online.

Still, fears over lower supply continue to impact prices at a time when oil from Russia, the world's second largest exporter, remains out of reach for most countries because of Western sanctions over the invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, it was also known that Chinese crude oil imports from Russia, on the other hand, rose 55% year-on-year to a record level in May, replacing Saudi Arabia as the main supplier. This indicates that Moscow is able to find buyers for the oil despite the Western sanctions, although it has had to reduce prices.
