Mozambique continues to ensure that it meets its targets in revenue collection for state coffers despite the constraints imposed by the covid-19 pandemic.

The assurance was given this Wednesday in Maputo by the president of the Tax Authority during the 13th Session of the Tax Council.

Amélia Muendane underlined that the current socio-economic conjuncture that the country is going through requires the union of efforts of all the segments of society in the construction of a fiscal system that enables the normal functioning of the economy.

"It is important to note that despite the conjuncture resulting from covid-19, Mozambique continues to ensure compliance with the targets established under the Law, a fact that results from the contribution of the different actors, in particular the small, medium and large scale taxpayers, For this reason, the tax authority salutes and thanks all taxpayers for their collaboration with the Mozambican tax system, aiming for a better distribution of income from the individual contribution of each active subject," said Amelia Muendane.

The 13th Session of the Tax Council of the Tax Authority takes place under the theme "Tax Management in the face of the covid-19 pandemic.
