"Interludes of Life" is the title of the newest exhibition by artist Nália Agostinho, recently launched in Madrid, Spain, where she is currently "staying".
The exhibition is made up of 27 works that were made in the space of a year and portray a very difficult period in the young artist's life, marked by "loves" but also "disappointments".
"I'm very proud and happy to be able to see part of myself in the works I've created. It's like looking in the mirror and finally finding myself," said the Mozambican artist in a telephone conversation with MZNews.
"I'm also happy because I believe that all the experience I've had with artists, masters, has somehow influenced this new line of work and had a big impact on the evolution of my works," he adds.
The artist considers "Interludes of Life" to be an act of redemption, vulnerability and a lot of courage to sit down with ourselves and our demons and wounds without seeking escape.
According to the young artist, "we are the interlude of what we were yesterday and what we will be tomorrow, matter in continuous movement and transformation, eager to leave a mark of our existence".
The exhibition, which will run for around three weeks, was attended by dozens of art lovers at its opening.
The artist told MZNews that the works were made using mixed techniques on paper. In terms of price, they can be purchased for between 400 and 1200 euros.
