Moçambique regista redução da tendência negativa da balança comercial agrária

Mozambique is reducing the negative trend in the agricultural balance of trade, with increased production and exports.

The fact was announced, this Wednesday, in Milange, by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, at the inauguration ceremony of the Silos and Warehouses Complex of Milange, in Zambézia.

Filipe Nyusi explained that in the first half of this year exports of agricultural products grew by 69% compared to the same period in 2021.

"As an example, in the first half of this year, there was a reduction in the value of the balance of trade deficit from $354.4 million to $330.5 million because the export value grew by 69%, driven by increased exports of pulses, oilseeds and other crops such as cotton, tobacco, macadamia and tea," he said.

The President of the Republic Filipe Nyusi also said that the installation of a Complex of Silos and Warehouses represents the materialization of the objective of modernizing agriculture, foreseen in the Government's five-year program 2020- 2024.
