Mozambique received this Wednesday, from the Portuguese government, a total of 110 thousand doses of vaccine against covid-19 accompanied by material to enable its administration.

This new batch of Astrazeneca vaccine doses was delivered to the Ministry of Health by the Portuguese Embassy in an act that took place at Maputo International Airport.

The vaccines arrive in Mozambique at a time when we want to accelerate vaccination.

This donation is part of the political commitment to donate at least 5% of the vaccines purchased by Portugal to the PALOP countries and East Timor.

According to the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, made this Thursday 1.7 million Mozambicans have already been vaccinated.

The head of state says that despite the difficulties in accessing and distributing vaccines, "efforts continue and are aimed at the vaccination, from October to December, of citizens aged 30 and over throughout the country, in an estimated population of seven million.
