Mozambique reaffirms readiness to ship fuel to Malawi via the Nacala rail corridor

Moçambique reafirma prontidão para carregamento de combustíveis para Maláui através do corredor ferroviário de Nacala

On Monday, Mozambique carried out the first shipment of liquid fuels to Malawi via the Nacala Logistics rail corridor, from the city's port to the National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) fuel terminal in Blantyre, in 45 hours and 44 minutes.

This step could end the process of loading fuel into that neighboring country by road from the Port of Beira.

At the moment, around 1.1 million liters of dyes have been loaded onto 29 wagons. According to Notícias, which quotes a source from Nacala Logistics, shipments will be made six times a month.

These shipments to Malawi increase the flow of fuel by rail from Nacala, which now intermediates deliveries of 10 million liters of fuel to its customers.
