Mozambique is the third country in the African continent with the highest levels of mangrove degradation.

To reverse the situation the Ministry of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries launched yesterday in Quelimane city, Zambezia province, the National Mangal Restoration Program.

This initiative aims to reforest five thousand hectares of land with mangroves in seven provinces of the country by 2022.
